My friend is going to walk me through replacing the clutch line this Wednesday. I will take lots of pictures and video of the process and post the results afterwards. I’m going to Pep Boys to buy some brake fluid today.

I know some people have been searching for these. I searched Google and was able to find a few Delorean Buddy Icons and a Back To The Future Buddy Icon.
I remember growing up this was one of my favorite VHS tapes that I would watch probably a half a dozen times a year. I haven’t watched it in the last 5 years because of a lack of a VHS tape player. Hopefully when they bring the Back To The Future Trilogy to Blu-Ray they will include this in the extras.
For those of you unfamiliar with The Secrets Of The Back To The Future Trilogy this was made for TV and was released after Back To The Future III and later brought to VHS. Kirk Cameron was the host and as he answered “fan letters” he showed behind the scenes footage on how each of the special effects were accomplished.
Although I couldn’t find the Back To The Future Cartoons on DVD I was able to find them on VHS on Amazon. Many Back to the Future fans might not even know that Back To The Future The Animated Series even existed.
Back to the Future: The Animated Series lasted 26 episodes (2 seasons) on CBS from September 21, 1991 to September 1993. The back to the future cartoon was recently shown on fox from March 2003 to September 2003.
Although this show is no longer being shown on television, nine VHS cassettes were released between 1993 and 1994, chronicling 18 of the 26 episodes. The show is not yet available on DVD, but bootleg copies can be found.
After carful consideration I realized I do not wish to sell the car at this time because i just love it too much. I’m still willing to accept offers that I may or may not consider.
But it looks like i’m going to finish restoring the Delorean and get some fun out of her.
I may not need a new clutch after all. After some research it seems like it might just be my plastic clutch line that is causing the problems and i need to upgrade to a braided clutch line. A much cheaper solution.

Flaws
- Clutch needs to be replaced ASAP ($250 in parts)
- Bottom of drivers seat is torn
- Headliner needs to be replaced
- Dash is not cracked but starting to lose color
- 1 dime size dent on hood and top of drivers door (Only noticeable in certain angles/lighting
- left taillight brake light needs a new bulb
Just replaced the following (last 2 months)
- 4 New Goodyear Eagle Tires (less than 100 miles on them)
- Belts
- Brake Pads
- Spark Plugs
- Wires
- Fuses
- Air Filter, Oil Filter
- Fluids, Oil, Brake Fluids

Talked with mechanic he said he adjusted the clutch and put in fluid to make it work but it needs to be replaced soon. I looked up the parts on SpecialTAuto and it’s under $300 for the entire clutch. I will most likely do this ASAP but I am also thinking about selling the car and put it up on craigslist and a few message boards to see if anyone is interested.
The car came back from the mechanic today. I was only charged for labor and he did something to fix the clutch which i am not sure.
The problem is I wanted him to actually replace the clutch or whatever parts needed to be replaced and not adjust it. The car drives now. But it wants to grind 1st gear and I won’t drive the car like that at all.
I’m going to call the mechanic up and ask him what he adjusted to make it drive and tell him I am going to buy the part new and bring it to him to install.
On the bright side when I got the car back today it wasn’t grinding for about 5 minutes and the car was driving and idling great.
Exactly 50 days from when I reported the clutch problem I am finally getting around to fixing the problem. I called my mechanic and he told me he take it in right away so AAA just picked up the Delorean and is bringing it to the mechanic as i type.
I told the mechanic that I believe the clutch line or the master cylinder is bad on the clutch and also told him to install a box of goodies left in the passenger seat which include spark plugs, wires, brake pads, and an air filter and to inspect the car to see if there is anything else that should be fixed at this time.
Once it is fixed I’ll most likely be taking it to this place that does car interiors to get the headliner fixed and to see if they can make the seats look like new.
I am excited to be able to drive it again shortly.
My sister came over last night and my brother-in-law informs me there is a guy and girl outside taking pictures of my car. I went outside to take a gander and it was just 2 fans taking pictures of themselfs next to the car. Love it when people do that but hate it when they touch the car also when its clean.
My brother-in-law said, “I’d be worried someone would steal the car because it gets so many looks” I replied, “Jokes on you they couldn’t even if they knew how to steal it. The clutch doesn’t work.”
I was under the belief that BTTFParts.com message board was taken down for good but realized today that they actually went back up on Oct 17, 2007.
Without the message board to get help and buy parts from I thought converting the Delorean to a time machine was a lost cause but maybe there is still hope.
While driven the Delorean home on Friday I noticed it was getting increasingly more difficult to switch gears and impossible to get it into 1st gear without it grinding.
After some speculation, I believe the Clutch’s Master Cylinder needs to be replaced. Which i heard is not that expensive.
This is really pissing me off. What else needs to break on the Delorean before the car becomes reliable? At least I got it home ok.
Marty looks over the DeLorean and sees an arrow that an Indian shot into the car. He pulls it out and stoops to look underneath, and sees liquid dripping from the bottom of the car.
“Damn, I ripped the fuel line.”
I was a a Shell gas station last night filling up the Delorean. The gas was filling up on its own while i stood back to admire the Delorean. I was amazed shortly after by the amount of gas it used to fill up the Delorean. Seconds later someone says to me
“Your car is leaking something.”
I go to the passenger side of the Delorean and see a fluid all over the floor i smell it and it was gasoline. I actually then said out loud, “Damn, I ripped the fuel line.” I called my friend and confirmed that the car wouldn’t explode as soon as i start the car. I decided to go for it. And drove the car away. The tank was saying its full. So what I’m guessing is i just over filled the tank and some of it spilled out.
