MTV’s Teen Wolf Moving Forward

by bluxed on September 2, 2009

MTV’s reinvention of the 1980s movie Teen Wolf is moving forward, says The Hollywood Reporter. The 1985 film starred Michael J. Fox as a teenager who discovers he is a werewolf. The MTV version will be set in high school, draw from the horror genre to explore werewolf mythology and include a romantic plot line.

“It has a fresh take and is very different from the original,” said Liz Gateley, senior vp MTV series development. “It has more of an ‘American Werewolf in Paris’ feel to it. It’s a dramatic thriller with two best friends in the center who provide a great comedy element: They are two very relatable characters on the outer circles of popular cliques.”

The new “Wolf” was written by “Criminal Minds” creator Jeff Davis, who executive produces the pilot with Marty Adelstein (Fox’s “Prison Break”) and Rene Echevarria (ABC’s “Castle”).

It would be awesome if they got Michael J. Fox to at least do a cameo on the show.

Spin City – Season 1 DVD Release November 4th

by bluxed on July 30, 2008

Season 1 of Spin City is to be released on DVD November 4th. There is very little information available so far, but Amazon shows a $19.99 list price (they are currently discounting it to just $13.99, but that could change without notice).  That price seems really low for a first season that consisted of 24 episodes.

Michael J. Fox May Join FX’s Rescue Me

by bluxed on July 8, 2008

Casting for Rescue Me’s upcoming fifth season may include Michael J. Fox. The deal for Michael J. Fox to join the cast of Rescue Me for a multi-episode arc. He’ll play a love interest for Denis Leary’s on-screen ex, Janet (Andrea Roth). An FX spokesperson confirms that Fox is circling the role, but insists “no deal is done yet.”

This marks Michael J. Fox’s first major TV gig since a 2006 guest stint on Boston Legal, where he played a CEO battling stage-four lung cancer.

Leary and Fox are longtime friends, so I’m going to assume negotiations will proceed without any problems.
