Literally Running After Tom Wilson

by bluxed on June 30, 2008

I went to see Tom Wilson’s standup comedy act Sunday night at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood Improv and before you ask, yes I did dress up as Marty McFly. The usher put me literally front and center (probably so Tom Wilson could make jokes easier about me and everyone could see me).

The show itself was very funny and me being part of it just made it better. At one point Tom literally was giving me a head massage for a minute, as he was singing to me.

During his final song, I started to take my red down vest off because I wanted him to autograph it.  (I have many autographs from members of the cast on my down vest).

He stops the song and yells something like, “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?, Did you finally realize it’s too damn hot to be wearing that?  Or were you getting upset that no one was giving you anymore attention and that you had to start waving a bright red nylon vest in the air?”

At this point, he grabs the vest and throws it to someone in the Army and says, “Take it to Iraq”.  I actually got a little nervous and signal that I’ll get it once he finishes his song.

Which causes him to say, “You should all see his face, he is so worried he isn’t going to get his vest back.”

The show ends and I get up to get the vest and Tom runs past me, grabs it, and starts running, waving it in the air and I start chasing him to try to get it back.

I get the vest back and have a laugh, and he gladly gives me the autograph and a picture that I deserved.

I enjoyed being part of the show. I actually had a few people ask if i was part of the show or if it was staged.
