Delorean Overheating and Coolant Hose Burst

I was driving on I-95 this morning and I start to hear a strange noise. I look at the engine temp and it’s in the middle of the orange so I get worried and pull off at the next exit. I pull into a 7-11 and open my gull-wing door and see that hot steam is coming out near the front of the rear tire. I take a closer look and see that its coolant coming out and as the steam slows down I notice the coolant just pouring out of the hose.

A guy comes up to me and says having engine problems? Mind if I take a look? He looks and sees its just a simple hose and says to me “I’m going to do my good deed for the day, and help you fix your car. It’s not every day you get to work on a Delorean”.

He tells me how he use to work at a garage and lives down the street and he’ll be right back with his tool kit. He comes back about 5 minutes later and takes the broken hose off the car and says he’s going to go to Napa to get a new hose + coolant. I ask him what I am going to owe him for this. He responds, “$800-$900….just kidding don’t worry about it”

Another 5 minutes later he comes back cuts the new hose puts it fills up the coolant and the car seems to be working fine. I gave him $40 for his trouble. This didn’t solve the overheating problem and the car was still going into the orange. I noticed the Fan Failed light was on and I believe this is the problem and the Fan Fail Fix might fix it.

I tried driving it and as long as I was moving at a nice pace the engine temp stayed down. I got it back home without any problems.
