Delorean Events

Its this weekend, just letting everyone know that I will be there. I am riding with my friend Elliot in his Delorean and will have a camera. I will also be bringing my laptop, camera, notebook, Delorean frame drawings, a measuring tape and colored pencils. Why may you ask?

Hopefully a little project will fall into my lap.

If you missed your chance to see BTTF at last years Celebration Car Show, now you have another chance this October. Here is the post from dmctalk.com’s Delorean Club of Florida section :

“DCF is proud to announce our participation in Avalon Park’s “Movie Under the Stars” on Friday, October 24th 2008! Showtime will be announced closer to the event.

The town of Avalon Park in southeast Orange County (Near Waterford Lakes/UCF area) has asked DCF to participate in one of their “Movie Under the Stars” nights this fall. Of course, on Oct. 24th they will be showing Back To The Future! They would like at least 4 or more DeLoreans to be displayed near their outdoor “theatre” before, during, and possibly after the film. This is a great opportunity to show off the cars and socialize with fellow owners and enthusiasts!

Saturday, September 20th, at 9am is DCF, Fall Tech Day. I missed last years tech day because my car was not reliable enough to drive 200 miles. This time I am ready to attend this event.

I will hopefully be able to fix my Delorean’s eyebrows and learn a lot about Deloreans

Anice cream place called Makes Cliff’s in Freehold, NJ is doing a Back to the Future screening on July 11 at 8:15PM. They use a large 22 foot inflatable screen and serve ice cream, soda, popcorn, and hot dogs.

The manager has invited DeLorean owners to participate and display their cars (he said something about free ice cream for anyone who brings a DeLorean).

If anyone is interested in attending, let me know and I will forward this to the people going.  The Delorean owners will be having dinner also before the movie.

The place is Applegate Farms, 356 West main Street (Rt 537) in Freehold NJ.

The New York Times wrote an article about Deloreans last week.

The DeLorean Car Show this weekend in Gettysburg, Pa., will probably bring out many different examples of the much beloved stainless steel car, from pristine restorations to the requisite B.T.T.F. (that’s “Back to the Future”) time machine conversions. But the most interesting car at the biannual event could be an electric DeLorean, built by Dave Delman out of his garage in Jericho, N.Y.

The DCF will be hosting our first ever South Florida Tech Day on Sunday, April 6, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

We will be gathering in Southwest Broward County, located Just off of Dykes Road just south of Griffin Road. 5800 Hawkes Bluff Ave Davie,Fl 33331.


This is a great opportunity to get together and meet some of the local club members/owners/ and enthusiasts! If you are planning on attending the Celebration Exotic Car Festival later in April and would like to have your car looked over before your trip, this would be a prime opportunity to do so!

Cost? FREE! We do ask that you bring $7.00 to cover the cost of pizza/drinks for the event. Dont have anything to do to your delorean? Don’t have a DeLorean but want to learn? Then dont worry! Feel free to come out and enjoy the day with us!

Please bring any necessary parts and tools if you have any projects you need worked on.

While this is a tech day, we do kindly ask that you respond with what kind of project you are wanting to do to your car that day. While we are all able to assist in repairing your car, we won’t be able to rebuild your car!

I went to Tower Shops where a few local Delorean owners met up to talk about the car and have some fun. Everyone was friendly and lots of people gathered around our cars with amazement. Alot of people was touching the car and leaning on it which didn’t make me to happy but it was still a lot of fun. Ozzie’s Delorean on the right had a flux capacitor in his car which looked nice turned on. Dan’s car in the middle has supringly around 200,000 miles on it.
