by bluxed on February 27, 2009

I might be going to Tokyo next month and just realized that Universal Studios Japan is in Osaka, Japan. Tokyo to Osaka is a 4 and a half hour journey.

So much for riding the Back to the Future ride one more time.

Simpsons Ride and Universal Studios

by bluxed on October 6, 2008

I was finally able to ride the Simpsons ride last weekend. After the Simpsons ride ended I said, “The Back to the Future Ride was better!” I was lieing to myself the Simpsons ride is great but I still want the Back to the Future Ride instead. I went into a few gift shops that had Back to the Future merchandise last time I was at Universal Studios but to my surprise no Back to the Future merchandise was to be found. I could not find the Delorean Time Machine anywhere in the park.KRUSTYLAND - Simpsons Ride

Back To The Future Ride Haunted?

by bluxed on July 31, 2008

According to a website online the Universal Studios Back to the Future ride in Orlando is haunted. The article reads:

Some guests have died from natural causes while riding the ride and two maintenance guys have been crushed by the cars while working on the hydraulics.

On the third floor at the entrance there are large mirrors where a small hand print appears about 7 ft up especially when that floor isn’t being used. won’t be cleaned off. also on the third floor when it’s closed you hear the song one of the maintenance guys liked to whistle and the sound moves up and down the halls.

On the second floor when cleaning cars at the end of the day the cars will close on the employee with no one at the controls and you hear a small girl giggle. Also some heavy doors open on their own when the ride isn’t turned on. Also shadows are seen in the employee hallway up to the third floor followed by a feeling of foreboding.

Sounds like a lot of nonsense but has anyone else heard anything about this or about any people dieing?

Simpsons Ride Has Soft Opening

by bluxed on April 30, 2008

Universal Studios Florida launched some soft openings for the Simpsons Ride. The ride looks fully functioning but it’s not on the wait board or the maps yet. The ride is basically the same set up as the Back to the Future Ride with the giant  screen, Krusty vehicles on many levels, and the same small room for the safety video.

Back to the Future fans I think will be disappointed with the Back to the Future tribute in the queue video. Professor Fink goes to visit the Institute of Future Technology uses a Delorean to go back in time when it existed and talks to doc brown. Christopher Lloyd does Doc Brown’s voice but I personally don’t like the way he looks in the video.

Nevertheless the Simpsons Ride entertains and has a few good laughs but the BTTF Ride will still be missed.

Christopher Lloyd Talks About Animated Doc Brown

by bluxed on April 21, 2008

I asked Christopher Lloyd about the alleged animated doc brown on the Simpsons ride and Christopher Lloyd told me at the celebration make-a-wish foundation charity event last Saturday that there is a animated doc brown on the Simpson’s Ride at the beginning of the ride and he has a few lines but it is a very short part right at the start of the ride.

Heard it here first on BTTFBlog.com

Back to the Future and Universal Studios Update

by bluxed on April 17, 2008

The Delorean time machine replica and Part III Time Train replica have now been brought back into the Florida park for display and photos

There was a rumor going around that USF was planning to turn the train into a Harry Potter attraction but that rumor is now dead. USF is allegedly planning on restoring some of the features and functions of the time train like making the flux capacitor light up and the gadgets spin again. The last time these gadgets were allegedly used was May 1, 1991 when the Back to the Future ride originally opened. The train brought Michael J. Fox, Tom Wilson and Mary Steenburgen to the Ride’s opening.

The Delorean time machine has already been giving a make over to make it resemble the film car from the movie.

Simpsons ride more than a Back to the Future clone

by bluxed on April 7, 2008

LA Times published an interesting article today about the Simpsons ride and confirms the rumor that the Simpsons ride have added a hommage to Back to the Future. “Simpsons ride creators even added a hommage to “Back to the Future” with a brief appearance by an animated Doc Brown, the mad inventor from the movie.”
